IIMCatwalk.com wishes all those who have put in hard work all the best. All of you must be eager to read CAT 2008 analysis and know more about CAT 2008 cut-offs. So here is IIMCatwalk.com's compendium of analyses and probable cut-offs from various parties:
On May 28th,2005,when I entered the hallowed ‘bricked walls’ of the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad campus after 5 years of corporate life and a premier MBA degree, I wasn’t sure if I had taken the best decision of my life. I had been rejected once before in FPM interview in 2003, by the same panel that selected me this year…and I didn’t know how to interpret my merit as a prospective doctoral student. “This would be a U turn in your life….I am sure you may have guessed that already…,” one of the panel members remarked.
According to this rediff article the ratio this year (2007) is around 1 or 2 final calls in IIMA and IIMB from 80 applicants who received a call based on their GMAT scores.
The ratio this year (2007) is around 2 final calls from 14 applicants who received a call based on their GMAT scores in IIML Similarly 2 or 3 NRIs have gotten into IIMK.
As for GMAT cutoff scores for IIMs while IIM-Lucknow has clarified that its GMAT cut-off score is above 85 percentile rank, the other IIMs do not have fixed cut-offs but say that they accept only those students who have a score of above 750. In fact IIM-Ahmedabad's Post Graduate Programme in Management for Executives (PGPX), which accepts only GMAT scores to encourage foreign nationals has a much lower cut off at 699.

I have been continuously asked about the questions that are put to participants for FPM interview in marketing. I have put together some points from my experience at IIMA. Hope it helps....
Amaethon 2007 – IIM-A’s annual AgriBusiness Summit – is to be held on 19th, 20th and 21st of January, continuing with the tradition that began three years ago. Amaethon has come a long way since then and this years Amaethon is expected to be a mega affair.
Amaethon 2007 will see at least 500 participants from 50 B-schools and 33 agribusiness management colleges across India making best use of an opportunity to interact with the most brilliant minds in the agribusiness sector and compete for over Rs. 6 lakhs’ worth of prize money. I do not have an agricultural or allied qualification at undergraduate level. The interview call from IIMA ABM was a surprise for me. And thus, another myth and wrong-founded assumption was shot. IIM A ABM course is open to all who have the eagerness to serve the agribusiness sector, unlike a general perception that it is for agricultural graduates.
Here's what the CAT 2006 100 percentile holder Arti Nihalani had to say on the IMS website: "Over time I have realized that you cannot just do things you like. To crack the CAT it is necessary to keep your mind open. After taking the practice tests you will know how much time you need for each section. Thus, you will be in a position to strategize and distribute the time for each section. Stick to your strategy. Do not make any last minute changes in the strategy on the CAT day."
