According to this rediff article the ratio this year (2007) is around 1 or 2 final calls in IIMA and IIMB from 80 applicants who received a call based on their GMAT scores.

The ratio this year (2007) is around 2 final calls from 14 applicants who received a call based on their GMAT scores in IIML Similarly 2 or 3 NRIs have gotten into IIMK.

Relative weightage of Gd & Interview
CAT Exam | GD | PI

A CAT candidate has requested more info on relative weightages of GD and interview from IIM Bangalore. Deep into this article it says "Senior IIM officials said the GD has “one-and-a-half-times” the weight of the interview."

This is an interesting comment as it reveals the relative weightage. Otherwise most people assume the weightage between GD and interview to be equal!

CAT Exam | GD | PI

Here's what the CAT 2006 100 percentile holder Arti Nihalani had to say on the IMS website:
"Over time I have realized that you cannot just do things you like. To crack the CAT it is necessary to keep your mind open. After taking the practice tests you will know how much time you need for each section. Thus, you will be in a position to strategize and distribute the time for each section. Stick to your strategy. Do not make any last minute changes in the strategy on the CAT day."

Post-MBA Life of a Techie: Should I have gone for an MBA?
B-School Life

Its a long time Sandeep and Vaibhav, the co-founders of iimcatwalk.com have been asking me to write for iimcatwalk. "Abhe tu site kolkhe baita hey, kuch to likhna.." Smiling
The reason I didn't write earlier was to grow this as a place where there is wider contribution apart from the founders. But now it's time to break my silence and open my heart. I (I refers to Sreekanth and russell is my nickname after my favourite philosopher Bertrand Russell) will try to write regularly from now on.
Let my first article be about my thoughts on MBA itself and whether I should have done it.
